I discovered this form of art through a friend, who studied with Michele Cassou, the author of Life, Paint and Passion: Reclaiming the Magic of Spontaneous Expression. We painted on large sheets of paper with beautiful tempera paints which quickly threw me back to my childhood kindergarten easel. I was encouraged to paint anything I wanted and engage with feeling of color and paint on the paper which resulted in a total sense of freedom and joy. It was also an opportunity to push through my resistance and judgment that I, like most adults, harbor within myself.
My newest paintings are done with acrylic paints and are a combination of design and spontaneity.
