~BARB’S OPINION~

The longer I live, the more stunned I am by the amazing natural physical beauty of our planet. I’ve had the good fortune to travel to many countries and have seen pictures of many others that I’d like to visit in person. On this page I have included pictures that I have taken myself. The magnificence is everywhere except where man has waged war, been unconscious with waste and destruction for profit and where Mother Earth herself has roared up a climate disaster.

While no one knows for sure if humans can prevent a global climate crisis, I am choosing to try and make a difference. I’ve accelerated making changes in my daily and long term habits www.gre21.com. I admit it is challenging for me to change patterns ingrained in me for more than 50 years, however, I believe and hope that we can make a difference because each individual’s efforts add to the whole movement. When we reach the ‘tipping point’ or critical mass where more of us are changing, it will no longer be fashionable or comfortable to indulge in our old habits such as a gas guzzling car, large homes not powered with pure, green energy, products tested on animals or products made by destroying our natural resources, products loaded with sugar and chemicals or voting for environmentally unconscious individuals.

I have a dream in my heart. I have two beautiful places to live - one in Vero Beach, Florida (almost knocked out by hurricanes) This home is on 10 acres of land in natural hammock of pine, oak and palm trees. We have two ponds, a little dock and rowboat, lovely landscaping with flowers, coconut palm trees and bird feeders and two horses grazing in a pasture when I look out my kitchen window. The other home is a tiny log cabin that we built on 35 acres in a remote area south of Colorado Springs. We have a 360 degree view with the Sangre de Cristo mountains in front of us and Pikes Peak on a clear day behind us. My dream is that these two places will stay intact for my grandchildren, my great grandchildren and all the generations to follow me.
